What Will I Learn?
  • Learn what display screen equipment is all about
  • Understand the responsibilities that come under legislation related to DSE
  • Learn to setup your screen safely and correctly
  • Learn to reduce the risk of work-related conditions
Description

Assessing Display Screen Equipment provides a complete overview of a special directive from The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulation to be applied when using display screen equipment (DSE). Display screen equipment is frequently used in workplaces and both the company and its employees must responsibly uphold this legislation and use DSE safely and correctly. Assessing Display Screen Equipment will demonstrate the role and responsibilities pertaining to the use of DSE. If the user in question uses DSE for more than an hour a day, these special directives must be strictly followed. DSE includes the computer monitor, televisions, laptops, tablets, portable diagnostic screens, smartphones and CNC control pads. The excess use of DSE can lead to eyestrain and pain in one’s neck and shoulders. This is cause for concern, particularly if employees are not complying with the health and safety regulations.

The regulation act (1992) was introduced to enable individuals who work frequently with DSE to setup and use your display screen equipment safely and accurately. Assessing Display Screen Equipment contains a wealth of information and advice on acquiring the relevant guidelines to carry out a training assessment of DSE, to identify potential risks and implement the necessary steps. This is an IIRSM approved course which demonstrates to potential employers that you are continually developing yourself, and will make you a desirable candidate in a number of leading industries.
